Tricks to be safe from scam.

1. Be careful of any stranger or tuk-tuk driver trying to approach and induce you to get to attractions or give you free ride or unbelievable low fare, you may end up buying what you do not want or you can lose lots of money.

2. Be careful of fake travel agents claiming they are authorized by government and tour guides waiting along the street. This is very dangerous; you may be overcharged 5-10 times more than usual. Call government at 0-22505500 to check their license before making any deposit for tour package.

3. The Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha is open from 8.30 - 16.00 and you must buy your own ticket inside which costs B 350 each. They do not close during lunch time. Please ask an officer for clarification.

4. The Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha requires that you must dress properly but you can get a free cloth rental with deposit B100 to get inside.

5. The government do not offer any promotion or sale. If so, they will inform you.

6. There is NO special lucky Buddha. That is only part of a cheating trick.

7. Nothing is free especially around the area of attractions. Do not accept things from strangers such as bird’s food, hats etc. Leave it if you don’t want to pay for.

8. Always ask taxi to turn the meter on or just leave if he refuses.
